Privacy Policy

Study Corgi · Last updated: September 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Study Corgi ("the App"), made by Team Zentalabs ("we", "us"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application. By using Study Corgi you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Study Corgi is designed to keep your data on your device wherever possible. We collect:

2. App Usage Access (App Blocking)

On platforms where this feature is available, the optional App Blocking feature requires the "Usage Access" and "Display over other apps" permissions to detect when a distracting app is opened during a focus session and show a reminder overlay. This processing happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store the list of apps you use.

3. Notifications

With your permission, the App sends notifications (focus reminders, streak nudges). Most are generated on your device. The App also registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver notifications from our servers; this stores a device push token linked to your account. You can turn notifications off at any time in the App's settings or in your device settings, which stops both kinds. Push tokens are deleted when you delete your account.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

5. How We Use Information

Our own analytics (Firebase Analytics) does not collect your advertising identifier; it is used only by AdMob to serve ads.

6. Advertising

The free version of Study Corgi shows ads from Google AdMob. Premium subscribers and lifetime purchasers see no ads, and the ads SDK is not started for them. Ads are never shown during a focus session. There are three kinds:

To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS), your approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about your interactions with ads. This data is handled by Google under its own policy and is not linked by us to your Study Corgi account. We only request ads suitable for general audiences.

Your choices. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time from Profile → Ad privacy choices. On iOS, the advertising identifier is only used if you allow tracking when asked, and you can change this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalized.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Local data remains until you delete it or uninstall the App.

Deleting your account from inside the App. If you use an account, you can delete it and all of its synced data at any time, without contacting us: open Profile → Delete Account and confirm. This permanently removes your account and the data stored against it — focus sessions, pet, wallet, streak, settings, room membership, friend code and friend requests — and clears the copy held on your device.

You may also request deletion by contacting us at the email below; we will action it within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Study Corgi is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads in the App are limited to content rated for general audiences. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

California residents. We do not sell your personal information for money. Letting Google AdMob use your advertising identifier to show personalized ads may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out by declining tracking on iOS, or by deleting your advertising ID on Android (Settings → Google → Ads) — you will then only see non-personalized ads. Premium removes ads entirely.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
